Backed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, the film Boong has achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the Best Children's & Family Film award at the 79th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA). This film, which is both written and directed by Lakshmipriya Devi, has made history as the first Indian film to secure a BAFTA award. Boong, a Manipuri production, premiered globally at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2024 and was later released in Indian theatres on September 19 of the previous year, albeit in a limited capacity at select PVR Inox locations. Excitingly, it is set to return to Indian cinemas in the first week of March.
