The horror comedy 'Bhooth Bangla' marks a significant collaboration between Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan after a long hiatus of over ten years. Released on April 17, the film had its paid previews a day earlier, starting at 9 PM, where it garnered Rs 3.75 crore. Following this, it opened with a strong collection of Rs 12.25 crore. Within just nine days, the film featuring Akshay, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav surpassed the Rs 100 crore milestone at the box office.
Day 10 Box Office Performance
As per preliminary estimates from Sacnilk, 'Bhooth Bangla' earned Rs 12.50 crore on its tenth day in India, bringing its total earnings to Rs 113.40 crore. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film has shown impressive performance at the box office.
After its initial collection of Rs 12.25 crore, the film saw a rise to Rs 19 crore on the second day, followed by Rs 23 crore on the third day. It earned Rs 6.75 crore on the fourth day, Rs 8 crore on the fifth, and Rs 6.15 crore on the sixth. The seventh day brought in Rs 5.50 crore, while the eighth day saw Rs 5.75 crore. On the ninth day, the film experienced a notable increase, earning Rs 10.75 crore.
Director Priyadarshan on Late Asrani's Dedication
In a recent interview, director Priyadarshan shared insights about the late actor Asrani's commitment to the film, revealing that despite enduring physical pain, Asrani was determined to complete his scenes. He recounted how Asrani, unable to walk due to an injury, was provided a chair between takes but transformed into a remarkable performer the moment the camera rolled, showing no signs of discomfort.
Upcoming OTT Release and Cast Details
'Bhooth Bangla' is set to be available on Netflix following its theatrical release, typically within 45 to 60 days. However, the official date for its OTT debut has yet to be announced. The film's ensemble cast includes Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Mithila Palkar, Manoj Joshi, the late Asrani, Zakir Hussain, and Rajesh Sharma, among others.
