Bhooth Bangla: Akshay Kumar's Horror-Comedy Nears ₹100 Crore Milestone!
Bhooth Bangla's Box Office Journey
The box office journey of Bhooth Bangla, a horror-comedy starring Akshay Kumar, is captivating audiences as it nears the conclusion of its first week in cinemas. Premiering on April 17, the film is set to mark its seventh day today, April 23, and has successfully attracted viewers despite the usual midweek decline in attendance. Directed by Priyadarshan, this film represents yet another partnership between the director and Kumar, who have previously collaborated on hits like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
Featuring a talented cast that includes Asrani, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Wamiqa Gabbi, Manoj Joshi, Mithila Palkar, and Jisshu Sengupta, Bhooth Bangla opened to impressive figures, raking in ₹3.75 crore from paid previews and a net of ₹12.25 crore on its opening day, totaling around ₹16 crore for its debut. This robust start set an optimistic tone for its theatrical performance.
However, like many films, it faced a midweek drop in collections. On its first Wednesday, the film experienced a 23.1% decline, earning approximately ₹6.15 crore, as per estimates. Despite this setback, Bhooth Bangla has managed to gather a gross of ₹93.87 crore and a net of ₹78.90 crore across India by the end of its sixth day.
As it enters Day 7, Bhooth Bangla continues to show steady box office performance, with no major fluctuations in earnings reported thus far. Current estimates suggest that the film has generated around ₹2.03 crore by 6:00 PM today, bringing its total gross in India to about ₹96.27 crore, while the net collection is approximately ₹80.93 crore. Final numbers for the day are still awaited.
While the film is on the verge of hitting the ₹100 crore mark in gross earnings, it has yet to recover its estimated production costs of around ₹120 crore. The occupancy rates for Day 7 indicate morning shows at 6.31% and afternoon shows at 11.38%, showcasing a steady yet gradual audience turnout.
