The untimely demise of Bengali actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee has sent shockwaves through the Bengali entertainment sector, prompting artists to call for accountability from the production team. Recent developments indicate that the Odisha Police have filed an FIR following a complaint from his wife, Priyanka Sarkar. The 43-year-old actor tragically drowned while filming at Talsari beach in Odisha on March 29, during the shoot for the TV series Bhole Baba Paar Karega. What was initially viewed as an accident has now led to demands for a thorough investigation, with family and colleagues urging for transparency in the matter.
FIR Filed by Rahul Arunoday Banerjee's Wife
As per police reports, the incident occurred while Rahul was filming a television serial at Talsari beach in Balasore district. It is believed that he accidentally fell into the sea and drowned. His associates rushed him to a hospital in Digha, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival, raising concerns about the adequacy of medical support available on set.
Following Priyanka Sarkar's complaint, an FIR was lodged at the Talasari Marine police station. Authorities have indicated that the investigation will explore all potential angles, including negligence or even a possible criminal conspiracy. Officials have committed to thoroughly examining evidence before reaching any conclusions.
Protests Erupt in the Bengali Film Community
The incident has ignited significant outrage within the Bengali film and television community.
