Becky Lynch is making strides in her transition from WWE superstar to Hollywood actress. She has officially joined the cast of Happy Gilmore 2, set to premiere on Netflix this summer, and has shared her heartfelt reflections on the filming experience.

The trailer for the much-anticipated sequel was released on May 31 during the Netflix Tudum event, where Lynch also discussed her collaboration with Adam Sandler. In an interview with a prominent sports publication, she reminisced about her childhood memories of the original Happy Gilmore film.

“I remember going to the video shop in Ireland and renting the first one and watching it with my brother and Dad. Nearly 30 years later I was on set for the second. That’s pretty surreal.”

Admiration for Adam Sandler

During her interview, Lynch revealed that she was in a costume fitting for Star Trek when she received the exciting news about her role in the movie. She expressed her long-standing admiration for Sandler, noting that working with him only heightened her respect for the iconic comedian.

“Loved Adam Sandler growing up. Still do. Actually, working with him made me love him even more. Watching how passionate, hilarious and dialed in he is at all times, and witnessing how he creates such a fun and warm working environment, he keeps everything loose but laser-focused at the same time,” Lynch shared her thoughts on Sandler's work ethic.

At the Netflix Tudum event, Sandler and the cast of Happy Gilmore 2 presented the new trailer, which also featured AEW’s MJF in a couple of scenes. However, details about Lynch’s specific role in the film remain under wraps.

The cast includes Adam Sandler reprising his role as Happy Gilmore, alongside Christopher McDonald, Dennis Dugan, Ben Stiller, and Bad Bunny. Lynch's participation in this film aligns with WWE's ongoing collaboration with Netflix, which began with the streaming of WWE Raw every Monday night. Interestingly, former WWE Diva Kelly Kelly also auditioned for a role in Happy Gilmore 2, but Lynch ultimately secured the part.
