The controversy surrounding the song Tateeree by Badshah continues to escalate. Authorities in Haryana have removed over 850 online links to the song and have issued warnings of legal repercussions for any future uploads. Released on March 1, 2026, the Haryanvi track features schoolgirls in uniforms and contains lyrics that have been deemed inappropriate and troubling regarding women and minors. Following its debut, the National Commission for Women (NCW) summoned Badshah, and multiple FIRs were filed against him in the state. In response, Badshah took down the song from YouTube and publicly apologized for offending the sentiments of women in Haryana.


Haryana Police Act Against Tateeree Content

Reports indicate that Haryana authorities have successfully removed a total of 857 links associated with Badshah's Tateeree, which includes 150 YouTube videos and over 700 Instagram Reels. The police have issued stern warnings of legal action, sending notices to social media platforms to ensure the removal of all versions of the controversial song, including re-uploads and short clips.

According to the Haryana Director General of Police, Ajay Singhal, any content that undermines the dignity of women and minors will not be tolerated. Individuals found sharing or posting the song will face social media bans, and repeat offenders could face serious legal consequences. Additional Director General of Police Shibas Kabiraj emphasized that strict legal measures will be enforced against all violators.

The song Tateeree and its accompanying music video have faced significant backlash on social media due to their offensive nature. The NCW took notice and summoned Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, along with his production team. Furthermore, the Haryana State Women's Commission demanded his arrest and requested the seizure of his passport after he failed to attend a hearing.

Recently, the Lookout Circular against Badshah was lifted. The singer provided his statement in Panchkula on March 19, which has temporarily alleviated the threat of further legal action. The police informed the Punjab and Haryana High Court that he has cooperated with the investigation related to the FIR filed against him in Haryana.
