Celebrating 11 Years of 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha'

Mumbai, Feb 27: Bollywood star Ayushmann Khurrana recently marked the 11th anniversary of his film 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' by sharing insights about his favorite scene from the movie.

On Friday, he posted a clip from the film on his Instagram account. The scene features Ayushmann and Bhumi Pednekar's characters, who are in a silent standoff while occupying the same space.

Despite their silence, they communicate through nostalgic songs, leading to a humorous moment in the film.

In his caption, the actor expressed, “This is one of my favorite scenes from Dum Laga Ke Haisha. They’re upset and not talking to each other… yet they convey everything through music. I’ve always appreciated how this moment illustrates that even when words are absent, emotions can still resonate. It’s fascinating how music can serve as its own dialogue, often expressing more than spoken words ever could.”

'Dum Laga Ke Haisha', directed by Sharat Katariya and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, is set in 1995 in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The story revolves around an arranged marriage between a cassette shop owner from a small town and an educated, plus-sized woman. The film premiered on February 27, 2015.

Bhumi Pednekar made her acting debut in this film, notably gaining weight for her role. The soundtrack, composed by Anu Malik with lyrics by Varun Grover, features the acclaimed song 'Moh Moh Ke Dhaage'. The film received the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi at the 63rd National Film Awards and was also a box office hit.
