Renowned Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, celebrated for his role in The Mummy series, is poised to make his debut in Indian cinema with the film Ranabaali. This project features Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in leading roles, directed by Rahul Sankrityan, and draws inspiration from significant events in Indian history. To commemorate Vosloo's birthday, the film's team revealed his character's first look, presenting him as Sir Theodore Hector, famously known as The Demon of Drought. Currently, filming is in full progress, with a global theatrical release scheduled for September 11 this year.

Arnold Vosloo, recognized for his performances in iconic films like The Mummy, Blood Diamond, and G.I. Joe, is set to make waves in Indian cinema with Ranabaali. On his birthday, the film's creators shared a captivating character poster showcasing Vosloo in a dramatic outfit, enveloped in smoke, hinting at a powerful and ominous role in this historical narrative. The announcement included a warm welcome to Vosloo, stating, “The Demon of Drought - Sir Theodore Hector. In celebration of Vijay Deverakonda's birthday in May, the filmmakers released an exciting video, referring to him as their 'Stallion' and inviting viewers to prepare for “peak Vijay in peak cinema.” The footage highlights the actor's rigorous horse-riding training and physical preparation for his challenging warrior role.


Overview of Ranabaali


Ranabaali is inspired by lesser-known historical events from India, set during the British colonial period between 1854 and 1878. Vijay Deverakonda stars as the titular warrior Ranabaali, while Rashmika Mandanna plays his wife, Jayamma. The couple, who recently married, resumed filming shortly after their wedding celebrations, with the production team welcoming them back with a cake-cutting ceremony and heartfelt wishes, stating, “Happy married life, Mr and Mrs Ranabaali.”



The film is being produced on a grand scale by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, with T-Series presenting the project. It stands as one of the most ambitious undertakings in Vijay Deverakonda’s career.
