Arjun Sarja's 'Blast' Makes Waves at the Box Office
Arjun Sarja's Remarkable Comeback in 'Blast'
Arjun Sarja, known for his supporting roles in Tamil cinema, has made a significant return as the lead actor in the film 'Blast'. Directed by newcomer Subash K Raj, the movie is enjoying a successful run at the box office, surprising many this year. Thanks to positive reviews and strong word of mouth, 'Blast' has continued to perform well, even amidst tough competition from other films like Karuppu. Although there was a slight decline in collections on the eighth day, the film's overall performance remains robust, particularly in Tamil Nadu.
'Blast' Box Office Performance on Day 8
'Blast' has now entered the ranks of the top 10 highest-grossing Tamil films of 2026, currently holding the ninth spot. It has surpassed the re-release earnings of 'Mankatha', which starred Ajith Kumar alongside Arjun Sarja. As the box office figures continue to rise, 'Blast' joins the ranks of major Tamil hits like 'Karuppu', 'Thaai Kizhavi', and 'Youth'.
According to reports, 'Blast' earned Rs 2.03 crore on its eighth day in India, reflecting a 26.2% decrease from the previous day, when it garnered Rs 2.75 crore. The film's total gross in India has now reached Rs 29.63 crore, with a net collection of Rs 25.78 crore.
Continued Success Despite a Drop
The film achieved its Day 8 total through 2,255 screenings nationwide. While the pace has slowed since its opening week, the earnings remain impressive for a film produced on a modest budget. The Tamil version was the primary contributor, bringing in Rs 2 crore on Day 8, while the Telugu version added Rs 3 lakh.
Tamil Nadu has proven to be the strongest market, contributing Rs 1.19 crore, with Kerala and Karnataka also making significant contributions. The film recorded an overall Tamil occupancy rate of 21.15%, with audience turnout improving throughout the day, increasing from 14.08% in morning shows to 27.92% during evening screenings.
