Archana Puran Singh's Role on The Kapil Sharma Show

Archana Puran Singh, renowned for her impeccable comic timing, has been a prominent judge on various comedy shows over the years. Currently, she is a regular celebrity guest on The Kapil Sharma Show.

A few years back, Kapil Sharma humorously remarked that Archana is compensated merely for her laughter on the show. This quip resonated with the audience, leading to its frequent repetition during episodes.

Archana Discusses Kapil's Humor

In a recent conversation with a media outlet, Archana reflected on Kapil's ongoing joke about her role, admitting that she herself is uncertain about her exact position on the show.

She stated, "It has turned into a running joke. Kapil jokes about everything, and while some take it seriously, I don’t. I understand that the essence of comedy is to deliver a punchline, elicit laughter, and move forward."

Understanding Her Role

The 62-year-old actress elaborated, "Indeed, I am compensated for judging a comedy show, which I initially began with Comedy Circus. However, on Kapil’s show, I am more of a celebrity guest than a judge. I’m not entirely sure what my role entails. Kapil keeps joking, and it seems like I’m being paid to laugh. In reality, I’m just enjoying the show, and my spontaneous laughter gives the impression that I’m being paid for it."

Family Humor and Future Projects

Archana also shared that her sons, Aryamann and Ayushmaan, have started to tease her in a similar manner to Kapil.

"My kids have picked up on that humor and often throw similar jokes my way. In my vlogs, you can see me laughing even when there’s no payment involved. It’s all in good fun, and I find it hilarious," she remarked.

Reflecting on her journey with Kapil, she recalled their initial meeting on Comedy Circus, where he was a contestant. "Our partnership began there, and who would have thought it would evolve this way? It’s a relationship founded on mutual respect," Archana noted.

On the professional front, she is gearing up for Rajkummar Rao's debut production, Toaster, which will premiere on Netflix. Additionally, she will feature in Season 3 of The Great Indian Kapil Show.
