AR Rahman Finds Humor in 'Anti-National' Accusations

A post circulating on social media humorously critiques the 'anti-national' allegations against Main Vaapas Aaunga, sarcastically suggesting that the film is deemed anti-national for depicting Pakistan without terrorists or spies. AR Rahman shared this post on his Instagram Stories, adding a laughing emoji to express his amusement.

Released on June 12, Main Vaapas Aaunga received favorable reviews from critics, although it had a slow box office start. As positive word-of-mouth spread, the film saw an increase in ticket sales over the weekend, particularly on Tuesday. The film's future performance remains to be seen, as it still requires a significant boost in revenue.

In a recent episode of Navika Kumar's podcast, Baatein Dil Se, Imtiaz Ali shared that he has never encountered discrimination based on his religion. When asked about any differential treatment due to his name, he stated, "Not at all. I have never experienced any discrimination. If there were discrimination, I would be stopped." He emphasized that he does not see himself primarily as a representative of any community, but rather as someone who is grateful for the love he receives from the public.

Alongside the main cast, the film also features Danish Pandor, Banita Sandhu, Kumud Mishra, Rajat Kapoor, Sanjay Suri, and Dolly Ahluwalia. This film marks Imtiaz's second collaboration with Diljit, following the successful Netflix release Amar Singh Chamkila.
