Mumbai: Actress Anushka Sharma is honoring Father's Day with a touching tribute to fathers everywhere.


On Sunday, she took to Instagram to share two heartfelt images.


The first image features her father, joyfully wearing headphones, while the second captures a greeting card from her daughter Vamika, dedicated to her husband, cricket star Virat Kohli.


In her post, Anushka expressed, “To the first man I ever loved, and the first man our daughter did…. Happy Father’s Day to all the beautiful fathers everywhere.”


Anushka, who grew up in a military family, was born in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Her father, Colonel Ajay Kumar Sharma, serves in the army, while her mother, Ashima Sharma, is a homemaker. With roots in Uttar Pradesh and Garhwal, Anushka has previously mentioned how her upbringing as a military child significantly influenced her character and life choices.


In a somber note, Anushka also shared her sorrow over the tragic stampede in Bengaluru that claimed ten lives. She re-posted a statement from the IPL team Royal Challengers Bengaluru, which expressed deep concern over the incidents surrounding the team's arrival.


The statement highlighted, “We are deeply anguished by the unfortunate incidents that have come to light through media reports regarding public gatherings all over Bengaluru in anticipation of the team’s arrival this afternoon. The safety and well-being of everyone is of utmost importance to us.”


The IPL trophy's arrival in Anushka's hometown sparked immense joy among fans, despite the recent tragedy. Virat Kohli, who has been with Royal Challengers Bengaluru since the IPL's inception, shared a sweet message for his wife amidst the celebrations.
