Anupam Kher's Emotional Appeal for Assam Flood Relief

Mumbai, Aug 4: Renowned actor Anupam Kher has shared his heartfelt concerns regarding the catastrophic floods in Assam.
In a recent post, he expressed his sorrow over the distressing images emerging from the affected regions. The actor, known for his role in ‘Special 26’, conveyed an emotional message urging the public to assist those impacted by this natural calamity.
On Instagram, Anupam released a video detailing the hardships endured by countless families who have lost their homes and means of livelihood. He also voiced his worries about the animals suffering due to the disaster. In the video, the 71-year-old actor stated, “Friends, I am deeply saddened by the visuals of this devastating flood. It’s hard to articulate the scenes we are witnessing on television and social media. Some individuals have lost their families, while others have been displaced from their homes. Many children and elderly individuals are left exposed to the elements.”
“What troubles me the most is witnessing helpless animals caught in this disaster. When nature unleashes its fury, we are reminded of our vulnerability. I felt this acutely while observing the situation in Assam. During such trying times, we often ponder what we can do amidst such overwhelming suffering. However, we realize that if each of us lends a helping hand in any way we can, it can ease the burden for a family,” he added.
Anupam further remarked, “It can instill hope in a child and empower a mother to believe she is not alone. I am praying for the people of Assam and am immensely grateful to everyone working tirelessly to assist them.”
He urged everyone to contribute to the relief efforts for Assam, emphasizing that the value of assistance lies not in the amount but in the emotion and intention behind it. Those willing to support financially can donate any amount to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
In his caption, the actor wrote, “Assam Floods: The heartbreaking images from the Assam floods have left me deeply saddened. Thousands of families have lost their homes, livelihoods, and, in many cases, their loved ones. Even innocent animals have not been spared by this tragedy.”
