Anu recounted, “I didn’t die. I was hospitalized, but a wrong injection hit a nerve, causing me to scream and collapse again. The following day, I returned to the set with a bandaged leg.”
She explained how the costume was adjusted to accommodate her injury, allowing filming to continue with hundreds of dancers on a grand palace set.
Anu emphasized the importance of the project, stating, “The producer’s investment and everyone’s time were on the line. I couldn’t let that be compromised because of me.”
After her iconic role in Aashiqui, she adopted meditation as a daily practice.
“Since Aashiqui, I’ve been meditating twice daily, regardless of my location. That discipline has remained with me, and I showed up fully. Later, they praised my professionalism,” she added, using hashtags like #OnSetAccident and #Professionalism.
Anu's post also revisited the harrowing car accident she endured in 1999, which left her in a coma for weeks and significantly altered her life.
This incident not only impacted her physical appearance but also had profound effects on her mental health, necessitating years of recovery.
Anu Aggarwal was a prominent figure in the early 1990s, gaining fame through Mahesh Bhatt’s 1990 musical blockbuster Aashiqui, which earned her the nickname 'Aashiqui girl' and catapulted her to stardom.
