Anna Lezhneva, now known as Anna Konidala, has reached out to her followers with a heartfelt message as her birthday approaches. She shared a previously unseen photo from one of their early trips, explaining her preference for her married name. In a detailed Instagram post, Anna expressed that while many know her as Anna Lezhneva, she officially adopted the name Anna Konidala after her marriage to actor and politician Pawan Kalyan in 2013. Her thoughtful message resonated with fans, who appreciated her sincerity.
Anna Konidala's Emotional Appeal to Fans
On Monday, Anna took to Instagram to convey a touching message about the importance of her name. Accompanying her post was a cherished image of her embracing Pawan Kalyan during their first trip to Saint Petersburg, Russia, along with the caption, "Anna Konidala: A small request about my name." In her note, she shared that she had long wanted to express this request but found it challenging to articulate her feelings.
Anna noted that many still refer to her as Anna Lezhneva, the surname that became public when news of her marriage broke. However, she clarified that her marriage certificate is the only official document that still bears the Lezhneva name. Since her marriage to Pawan Kalyan, she has legally taken on the surname Konidala and feels a strong connection to it. "Please call me Anna Konidala. That's my name, and it's the one I feel like myself with," she expressed, thanking her followers for their understanding.
Reflecting on Anna and Pawan Kalyan's Journey
Anna, originally from Russia, first crossed paths with Pawan Kalyan while working on the Telugu film Teen Maar in 2011. Their relationship flourished over the years, leading to their marriage on September 30, 2013, under the Special Marriage Act.
The couple shares a son, Mark Shankar Pawanovich, and Pawan has also adopted Anna's daughter, Polena Anjana Pawanova, from her previous marriage. Anna has been actively pursuing her career, recently completing a Master of Arts degree from the National University of Singapore in 2024 while managing hospitality ventures. Pawan Kalyan has been married three times, with his previous marriages to Nandini and actress Renu Desai ending in divorce before he wed Anna. He is set to star in an upcoming film directed by Surender Reddy and will also collaborate with director Sujeeth on OG2.
