The Library Initiative
Origin of the Library Project
A contestant brought up Amitabh Bachchan's village during the show, prompting him to discuss a library initiative started by his wife, Jaya Bachchan. He recounted that Jaya had visited Babu Patti and observed that the local children lacked a suitable space for studying. Concerned about the educational deficiencies, she suggested the establishment of a library.
Amitabh's Apology for Delays
Reasons for the Apology
Back in 2006, Jaya Bachchan inaugurated the Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan Memorial Library, named in honor of the esteemed poet. Amitabh took the opportunity to apologize for the delays in the library's operational status. He acknowledged that while the building was constructed, it was not yet fully functional due to various issues. He reassured the villagers that the remaining work would be completed soon, allowing the library to open its doors.
Inauguration and Current Status
Library's Inauguration
The Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan Memorial Library was created to celebrate the literary contributions of Amitabh's father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, and to enhance educational opportunities for children in the village. However, over the years, there have been concerns regarding the library's operational status. Despite its inauguration in 2006, the facility has faced challenges that have limited its usage due to incomplete arrangements.
