Rumors about a potential collaboration between Allu Arjun and Basil Joseph have been circulating, especially after reports hinted at a significant project involving the two. Fans speculated that this might be connected to Basil's long-anticipated adaptation of Shaktimaan. However, Arun Anirudhan, the director of Athiradi, has clarified the situation. In a recent interview, he confirmed that while he and Minnal Murali co-writer Paulson Skaria had developed a screenplay for Shaktimaan with Basil Joseph, the project with Allu Arjun is unrelated to the superhero film.

Is Allu Arjun Joining Shaktimaan?

During a conversation with Club FM 94.3, Arun Anirudhan explained that he and Paulson Skaria had previously crafted a screenplay intended for Basil Joseph's next directorial project. This ambitious film was indeed based on Shaktimaan, but it never progressed as initially planned. Arun mentioned that the film was envisioned on a grand scale, but various challenges prevented it from moving forward. He expressed uncertainty about its future, stating, "I do not know whether it will happen or not; it is quite complicated." He also addressed the recent buzz linking Allu Arjun to the superhero project, which intensified after Basil Joseph's presence at Allu Sirish's wedding, leading many to speculate that discussions about Shaktimaan were in progress. However, Arun dismissed these claims.

According to Arun, Allu personally invited Basil Joseph to the wedding, and they have maintained contact since Allu expressed his appreciation for Minnal Murali. The director emphasized that Shaktimaan was never proposed to Allu Arjun, stating, "This has no connection with Shaktimaan. That is something different, and all updates will be shared soon." He hinted that while discussions between the actor and the director are ongoing, they are not related to the superhero film, and a formal announcement regarding their collaboration might be forthcoming. This clarification has dispelled the circulating theories linking Allu Arjun to the long-awaited Shaktimaan project.

Allu Arjun's Upcoming Projects

On the professional front, Allu Arjun is currently engaged in the filming of Raaka. Directed by Atlee, this high-budget film is said to explore a concept involving a 'parallel universe,' with Deepika Padukone starring as the female lead. In addition to Raaka, Allu has also secured his next project, tentatively titled AA23 or LK07, which will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
