The Airport Incident
When Alia Bhatt Faced a Mob
In a conversation with SCREEN, Zeeshan detailed a 2014 incident where Alia was surrounded by airport personnel while traveling with her team. After clearing immigration, she stepped aside momentarily, and without her bodyguard or manager nearby, she became the center of attention. Qureshi noted that the airport staff and customs officers quickly approached her, requesting selfies.
What transpired next was alarming. Zeeshan described how the crowd closed in on her, stating, "Vo bechari ekdum haath aur per close karke khadi hai, dari hui (Poor thing stood there, all scared and uncomfortable)." Once he cleared immigration, he rushed to her side, urging the officers to give her space. He expressed concern over their behavior, saying, "usko daba ke khade the, gale mein aur kandhe par haath rakhne ki koshish kar rahe the (they were trying to take pictures with their hands on her shoulder)." After this, he firmly instructed them to respect her personal space and safely escorted Alia away.
