Superstar Akshay Kumar is once again in the limelight as he prepares for his ninth film with renowned director Priyadarshan. Following the success of *Bhoot Bangla* earlier this year, the duo is set to collaborate on a new project that is said to be inspired by a beloved comedy classic from two decades ago.

Revisiting a Beloved Character

Sources indicate that Akshay Kumar will be reprising one of his fan-favorite roles in Priyadarshan's upcoming film. In the 2004 hit *Mujhse Shaadi Karogi*, he won hearts with his energetic portrayal of 'Sunny'. Recent reports confirm that he will once again team up with Priyadarshan for this new venture.

Interestingly, this film is expected to have ties to *Mujhse Shaadi Karogi*. Industry insiders reveal that the project is titled *Wicked Sunny*, named after the lead character, meaning Akshay will don the persona of 'Sunny' once more.

Production Details

Filming is set to commence in December. Initially, Akshay and Priyadarshan were supposed to collaborate on *Hera Pheri 3*, but Priyadarshan is no longer involved in that project.

Additionally, a notice from Akshay’s production house, Cape of Good Films, has emerged, asserting that they possess all rights concerning *Hera Pheri 3*, covering aspects like production, marketing, and distribution.

Upcoming Projects

Currently, Akshay Kumar is enjoying the spotlight after the success of *Welcome to the Jungle*. Looking ahead, he is also set to star in a film titled *Haivan*, which is directed by Priyadarshan and is scheduled for a global theatrical release on September 11, 2026.
