The upcoming film 'Haivan', featuring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, is generating significant buzz as one of the year's most awaited releases. Fans are eager for more insights, and Saif Ali Khan has recently provided some intriguing details about Akshay's character.
In an interview with 'Variety India', Saif shared, "We are incredibly lucky to have him in this role. It’s thrilling because he’s portraying a dangerous antagonist, which is something I haven’t seen him do often. I can’t wait to see it unfold."
A Strong Bond Between Co-Stars
Saif expressed his admiration for Akshay, stating, "I have a great fondness for Akshay. He feels like an older brother to me. Our long-standing friendship has fostered a deep respect, especially for someone who has dedicated so many years to the industry. We’ve shared numerous experiences together, and our chemistry has always been fantastic."
On set, Saif humorously noted, "Director Priyadarshan often teases us, saying, 'You two are acting like mischievous kids.' Akshay jokes that he brings out that playful side in me, and I tell him the same. Since we met on set, we’ve been engaging in light-hearted banter. When it’s just the two of us, we tend to be more serious, but together..."
A Shift from Comedy to Thrills
When asked about the comedic dynamic between him and Akshay in 'Haivan', Saif clarified that this film takes a different approach. He remarked, "This project doesn’t focus on our comedic chemistry, which is refreshing, as I believe that phase has passed."
The film is set to hit theaters on September 11, 2026, and promises to be a thrilling experience filled with suspense and intense drama. Directed by Priyadarshan, 'Haivan' boasts a talented supporting cast, including Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher.
'Haivan' is a Hindi adaptation of the acclaimed 2016 Malayalam film 'Oppam', which starred Mohanlal. Excitingly, Mohanlal will also make a special cameo appearance in this Hindi version.
