Akshay Kumar Sells Two Apartments in Mumbai for ₹7.1 Crore Ahead of Film Release
Akshay Kumar's Real Estate Move
Akshay Kumar is making headlines once again, this time due to a significant real estate transaction. The actor has sold two residential units located in Mumbai’s Oberoi Sky City, Borivali East, for a total of ₹7.1 crore. Property registration documents reviewed by CRE Matrix indicate that this sale occurred on June 2, 2026, adding another chapter to his ongoing property divestment in Mumbai. This sale comes just weeks ahead of the release of his comedy film, Welcome To The Jungle, which is set to hit theaters on June 26, 2026.
Details of the Sale
Two Flats, One Smart Exit
The two apartments sold by Akshay are situated on the 35th floor of Tower B. The larger unit, covering 1101 sq ft, was sold for ₹5.75 crore, with an additional stamp duty of ₹28.75 lakhs. The smaller adjacent unit, measuring 252 sq ft, fetched ₹1.35 crore, accompanied by a stamp duty of ₹6.75 lakhs. Both units come with dedicated parking spaces. The purchase was made under the name of Suvarna Rupeshkumar Sakpal. Akshay originally acquired these flats from Incline Realty Pvt Ltd in November 2017, with the larger unit costing ₹3 crore and the smaller one priced at ₹67.55 lakhs.
According to the registration documents, the smaller flat has appreciated by nearly 99% over the past eight years. This sale in Borivali appears to be part of a broader trend, as earlier in January 2025, Akshay sold a 1073 sq ft apartment in Borivali for ₹4.25 crore and also offloaded a luxury flat in the Oberoi 360 West project in Worli for ₹80 crore. Earlier this year, he reportedly leased a duplex apartment in the Oberoi complex, Andheri West, for a monthly rent of ₹1.44 lakhs.
