Akhil Akkineni's film, Lenin, which premiered in theaters on July 10, is experiencing a positive trend at the box office following a strong opening weekend. This rural action drama, helmed by Murali Kishor Abburu, saw a notable increase in earnings on its first Sunday, reflecting audience enthusiasm despite receiving mixed critical reviews. Thanks to favorable word of mouth, the film has surpassed the Rs 37 crore milestone globally, marking Akhil's most significant commercial achievement in recent years. The film has shown impressive attendance in key regions, especially Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, establishing itself as a much-needed success for the actor.
Lenin Box Office: Akhil Akkineni's Film Sees Day 3 Growth, Grosses Rs 37.07 Crore Worldwide
As per preliminary estimates from industry sources, Lenin garnered Rs 9.65 crore nett in India on Sunday, reflecting an 11.6% increase from its Day 2 earnings of Rs 8.65 crore. The film debuted with Rs 7.15 crore nett on Friday, bringing its three-day nett total in India to Rs 25.45 crore. The gross collection in India has also exceeded Rs 29.27 crore after the opening weekend.
On Sunday, the action drama was showcased in 2,324 screenings nationwide, achieving an overall occupancy rate of 64.19%. The occupancy improved throughout the day, with 44.31% in the morning, 73.69% in the afternoon, 76.77% in the evening, and 62% during the night shows. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana emerged as the film's strongest markets, contributing Rs 9.50 crore gross on Sunday alone, while Karnataka added Rs 1.25 crore, Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 15 lakh, and the rest of India brought in Rs 20 lakh.
