Chennai: Renowned actor Ajith Kumar, a devoted admirer of Ayrton Senna, has recently acquired a stunning McLaren Senna.
Currently honing his skills at the Paul Ricard Circuit in France, Ajith recently achieved a personal best lap time of 2:08.571 while testing the Porsche GT3 R.
His racing team, Ajith Kumar Racing, shared the exciting news of his new purchase on social media, posting a photo of Ajith with his car and stating, "Senna brought to life with Ajith Kumar bringing the McLaren Senna home!"
Ajith has openly expressed his admiration for Ayrton Senna, stating in an interview, "My favourite person, who, like you say, I idolise, is Ayrton Senna."
Recently, a video surfaced showing Ajith paying homage to a statue of the legendary Formula One driver at the Senna Memorial in São Paulo, Brazil, which quickly gained popularity online.
In the clip, Ajith is seen kissing the feet of the life-sized statue of Ayrton Senna.
The actor has been actively pursuing his motorsport ambitions, achieving notable success on the racetrack at least three times in 2025.
For those unfamiliar, Ajith is not just a racer but also the owner of Ajith Kumar Racing. His teammates include Mathieu Detry, Fabian Duffieux, and Cameron McLeod, with Bas Koeten Racing providing technical and logistical support.
The racing team kicked off the year with a commendable third place in the 991 category at the 24H Dubai 2025. They followed this with another third-place finish at the highly competitive 12H Mugello car racing event in Italy, and secured second place at the Creventic Endurance Race at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium, in the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup category.
