Excitement Builds for Sing Geetham's Release

Renowned filmmaker Singeetham Srinivas Rao's latest Telugu movie, Sing Geetham, is set to hit theaters tomorrow. Featuring Ahilya and Ayaan in the lead roles, this musical fantasy was initially scheduled for release on June 11. In anticipation of the premiere, an exclusive interview was conducted with Ahilya, who is making her Telugu film debut with this project. During the discussion, she expressed her feelings about the challenges of acting in a language she had never spoken before.

Ahilya Discusses Her Experience on Sing Geetham

Insights from Ahilya

Reflecting on her journey in Sing Geetham, Ahilya shared, "This experience has been incredibly enriching, not just in terms of acting and filmmaking, but also in understanding diverse stories and cultures. Immersing myself in a new environment has provided me with valuable insights. Since I don't speak Telugu, I had to start from the ground up, and I even dubbed my own lines for the film."

She further explained that spending months on set with a team that communicated solely in Telugu taught her a lot about patience and effective communication. Despite facing challenges in understanding the language, she found it rewarding to bond with her colleagues and contribute to a unique project. When asked about the difficulties of working on this musical fantasy, she noted, "One challenge is the genre itself: a musical that hasn't been widely explored in India. This film is distinctive as it features continuous singing with minimal dialogue, especially after character introductions."

The Unique Nature of Sing Geetham

About the Film

Ahilya recalled that the film's approach was unlike anything previously attempted, stating, "We are constantly discovering new aspects as we progress. It's both challenging and enjoyable. I'm grateful that these elements came together. Additionally, performing in a language I had never spoken before was quite intimidating, particularly in front of seasoned Telugu actors. It often made me feel a bit self-conscious (laughs)."

Produced by Nag Ashwin under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies, Sing Geetham tells the story of a man who embarks on a journey to a mysterious and secluded village. The film has a runtime of 2 hours and 17 minutes.
