Dhurandhar's Success and Legal Challenges

Aditya Dhar's film Dhurandhar has emerged as a monumental success in Hindi cinema, enjoying a remarkable run over the past six months. However, the filmmaker has recently faced accusations from Santosh Kumar, who claims that Dhar's work is a replica of his 2023 script titled D-Saheb. Following these allegations, Aditya took legal action by filing a defamation suit against Kumar in the Bombay High Court. Recently, the court has resolved this case after Kumar issued an apology.

Bombay High Court Resolves Defamation Case

As reported by Live Law, the Bombay High Court dismissed the defamation suit after Santosh Kumar apologized for his earlier remarks. Justice Arif Doctor presided over the case, and during the proceedings, Kumar's counsel, Mrs. Bhura, presented the apology made during a press conference on March 30, 2026. Aditya Dhar's legal representative, Senior Counsel Dr. Saraf, informed the court that his client was willing to drop the suit following the apology. The judge noted, “He accepts the said apology and submits that the suit can now be accordingly disposed of. In light of this, nothing further survives in the suit, and the same is accordingly disposed of.”

Additionally, the judge has allowed Santosh Kumar to pursue any necessary legal actions regarding his claims over the film's script. Aditya has yet to release an official statement regarding the matter.
