Adah Sharma Discusses Student Protests

Adah Sharma has recently addressed the ongoing protests by students regarding exam paper leaks across the nation. During her conversation with Anchor and News Editor Heena Gambhir at the Times Now Sustainability Conclave 2026, Adah expressed her solidarity with the students and acknowledged their dedication. However, she also expressed her discomfort with some of the slogans being chanted during the demonstrations, stating that she does not support those aspects. While she admitted to not being deeply knowledgeable about political matters, she emphasized that celebrities should voice their opinions on significant issues, provided they are well-informed.

Adah Sharma's Perspective on the Protests

Regarding the paper leak controversy, Adah stated, "I stand with the students. The journey for the future begins in the classroom. I shared a post supporting the students in their educational environment. Their hard work for exams is crucial, as their aspirations and futures hinge on it, so my heart truly goes out to all the students and their families." However, she noted that she was not fully aware of the specifics surrounding the protests, saying, "As for the protests, I don’t have complete knowledge. I’ve seen many slogans that I don’t align with. I’ve read various opinions from both sides, but I’m not a politician and lack political expertise."

When questioned about the public's expectation for celebrities to comment on such matters, Adah responded, "I believe it’s reasonable. If I’m a celebrity and have opinions on certain issues while choosing to remain silent on others, people will naturally expect me to express my views on those as well. I don’t see that as unfair."

Adah Sharma has made significant contributions to both Hindi and South Indian cinema over the years. Her notable films include Hasee Toh Phasee, Commando 2, Kshanam, The Kerala Story, Selfiee, and Bastar: The Naxal Story. Her latest project, Governor, is a financial thriller directed by Chinmay D Mandlekar and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under Sunshine Pictures. The film, which draws inspiration from the 1991 Indian economic crisis, also stars Manoj Bajpayee and Noushad Mohamed Kunju, and was released in theaters on June 12, 2026.
