The eagerly awaited Hindi film 'Sitaare Zameen Par', featuring Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh, is officially set to hit theaters on June 20, 2025. Fans can now begin pre-booking their tickets, a fact that Genelia shared enthusiastically on social media.
In a video posted by a media channel on Instagram, Genelia expressed her excitement about the film. The accompanying caption read: 'Sitaare will shine not just on the ground but also on the screen! Advance bookings are OPEN! Your date with Sitaare awaits.'
Film's Heartwarming Theme and Certification Updates
The film, which serves as a spiritual sequel to 'Taare Zameen Par', is a delightful comedy that beautifully captures themes of love and joy, as seen in its trailer.
After some delays, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' has received approval from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The initial changes suggested by the Examining Committee were not accepted by Aamir Khan, leading to a review by the Revising Committee, chaired by Vaman Kendre, on June 16.
Production Details and New Talent
According to reports from a media outlet, the Revising Committee made several adjustments: the term 'businesswoman' was changed to 'businessperson', a reference to Michael Jackson was altered to 'Lovebirds', and an image containing the word 'Kamal' was removed. Additionally, a new voiceover disclaimer was added, and a quote from Prime Minister Narendra Modi was included after the opening disclaimer.
Produced by Aamir Khan Productions, this film marks the debut of ten new actors: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
Directed by R. S. Prasanna, known for his acclaimed work on 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan', this project represents one of the largest collaborations in his career.
Alongside Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh, these new talents will share the screen. The film's lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, with music composed by the trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, while the screenplay is written by Divy Nidhi Sharma.
Scheduled for release on June 20, 2025, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' promises to be a significant cinematic event.
