Aamir Khan's Anticipated Film Faces Challenges

Aamir Khan is preparing for his eagerly awaited comeback with 'Sitaare Zameen Par,' a spiritual sequel to his iconic 2007 film 'Taare Zameen Par.' This new project, which centers on children with special needs and features Aamir as a basketball coach, has encountered an unexpected obstacle just before its release.

Prior to its debut, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) requested certain cuts, which Aamir initially resisted, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the film's creative vision. Ultimately, the CBFC granted official clearance for the film.

According to reports from a media outlet, the proposed changes included substituting the phrase 'Business Woman' with 'Business Person,' altering 'Michael Jackson' to 'Lovebirds,' removing the term 'Kamal' (lotus) from a scene, replacing the original disclaimer with a new one featuring a voiceover, and adding a quote from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the disclaimer.

Directed by RS Prasanna, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' also stars Genelia D’Souza and introduces ten new actors portraying specially abled characters. The film is a remake of the Spanish movie 'Campeones.'

Set to hit theaters on June 20, the film has seen a sluggish start at the box office, with disappointing advance ticket sales.

As per industry analysis, the advance bookings for the film reached just over Rs 1 crore by Thursday morning, a mere day before its release. This figure pales in comparison to Aamir's previous film, 'Laal Singh Chaddha,' which achieved Rs 5.52 crore in advance sales, despite its own lackluster performance at the box office.
