Aamir Khan's Exciting New Project
Aamir Khan, currently preparing for the release of his film 'Sitaare Zameen Par', has officially announced his next venture. In a recent interview, he disclosed that he will collaborate with the acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for his work with stars like Kamal Haasan, Thalapathy Vijay, and Rajinikanth.
During his conversation with a media outlet, Aamir stated, "Lokesh and I are developing a superhero film. It will be a large-scale action project, set to begin in the latter half of next year." He also addressed rumors regarding 'PK 2', clarifying, "That’s just speculation. I am working on a biopic of Dadasaheb Phalke with Raju."
Aamir expressed his long-standing aspiration to create a film based on the Mahabharata, saying, "This has been my dream for 25 years. Creating 'Mahabharata' is not just making a film; it’s a commitment. I’m attempting to lay the groundwork for it, but I’m unsure if I can realize this dream. Until I establish a solid foundation, I can’t provide further details."
In the meantime, Aamir is busy filming 'Sitaare Zameen Par', which is a remake of the 2018 Spanish movie 'Champions'.
Reports indicate that Aamir plans to forgo an OTT release for 'Sitaare Zameen Par', opting instead for a pay-per-view model. This approach allows viewers to pay specifically for the film they wish to watch, similar to traditional cinema, without needing a subscription to an OTT platform. This strategy is believed to be more beneficial for producers.
According to reports from a prominent entertainment publication, Aamir Khan is keen on this release strategy for 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. A source mentioned, "Aamir prefers not to release his films directly on streaming platforms after their theatrical run, as it may deter audiences from enjoying films in cinemas. This is also why the poster for 'Sitaare Zameen Par' does not feature a streaming logo."
The film is set to hit theaters on June 20, 2025.
