A R Rahman to Make Acting Debut in 'Moonwalk' Alongside Prabhudeva
A R Rahman's Exciting New Venture
Chennai, Dec 31: Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman is set to step into the acting world with his debut in the film 'Moonwalk', directed by Manoj N S, which stars Prabhudeva in the lead role.
The production team, Behindwoods Productions, has recently released 14 vibrant character posters, heightening excitement for the film.
In a remarkable first, A R Rahman has lent his voice to all five tracks in 'Moonwalk', creating a cohesive musical experience. Notably, he will portray a fictional character, an 'angry young film director', adding a unique twist to the storyline.
Director Manoj NS shared his enthusiasm about working with Rahman, stating, “Shooting the song ‘Mayile’ with Prabhudeva and A. R. Rahman was a delightful experience. The song has turned out beautifully and will surely captivate audiences. Prabhudeva has delivered an outstanding dance performance, and I owe a lot to choreographer Sekhar Master for his contribution.”
He continued, “A. R. Rahman’s presence throughout the song adds a charming touch. When I later offered him a more significant role, he graciously accepted. This will be a surprising moment for viewers, and directing him in his first scene was a joy. The entire team was thrilled to see him enjoying his acting debut.”
Prabhudeva will showcase his versatility in the film as ‘Babootty’, a young choreographer, blending humor and performance in a captivating role.
Yogi Babu, who has already been announced in dual roles as ‘Kavarimaan Narayanan’ and ‘Aattukkaal Azhagu Rasa’, will surprise audiences with a third character named ‘Dubai Mathew’. Manoj NS hinted at more surprises regarding Yogi Babu’s role during the audio launch.
The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Aju Varghese as ‘Lord Djokovic’, Arjun Ashokan as ‘Luna’, and many others, showcasing a wealth of talent. Manoj NS expressed his gratitude for having such skilled actors involved in 'Moonwalk'.
The full-length comedy film is slated for a theatrical release in May 2026.
