TMC's Serious Allegations Against BJP

As the second phase of voting approaches on April 29 in West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has leveled serious accusations against the BJP. The party claims that the BJP is plotting to assassinate Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and is attempting to introduce a culture of violence in the state.

Controversy Sparks from Viral Video

The controversy erupted following a viral video that surfaced on Monday. The Election Commission dispatched Ajay Pal Sharma, an IPS officer from Uttar Pradesh, to serve as a police observer in the South 24 Parganas district. Upon his arrival, Ajay Pal was seen threatening TMC candidate Jahangir Khan, and the video of this incident quickly gained traction online.

Open Threats Against Mamata Banerjee

In a post shared on the social media platform X, the TMC stated, 'After threats of rape and the circulation of derogatory cartoons, the BJP has now resorted to openly threatening to kill Mamata Banerjee.'

TMC Criticizes Election Commission and Central Government

The TMC has also criticized the central government and the Election Commission, stating, 'Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India remains silent, acting as a mere spectator. This is the BJP's transformation for Bengal, as they seek to transplant their culture of violence from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar into our state.'

Ajay Alok's Controversial Post

The TMC highlighted a controversial post by BJP national spokesperson Ajay Alok, who wrote, 'If you try to scare us, we will retaliate, Didi.' This statement reflects the BJP's intentions for Bengal, according to the TMC, which emphasized that Mamata Banerjee is a three-time elected Chief Minister.

Concerns for Common Mothers and Daughters

The party further alleged that such rhetoric indicates a broader culture of intimidation, allegedly sanctioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The TMC expressed concern, stating, 'If they speak like this about Didi, one can only shudder to think what these saffron goons will do to the common mothers and daughters of Bengal.'

Bengal Remembers

The TMC concluded with a strong message, asserting, 'But remember these words. Bengal does not forget. Bengal does not forgive. This insult and threat against our daughter will be answered not just with words, but with votes. On May 4, Bengal will speak.'
