Opposition Leader Raises Concerns in Raiganj

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, has voiced serious concerns regarding the administration of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. During an election rally in Raiganj, he stated that the presence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state is a result of the Trinamool Congress's (TMC) failure to deliver effective governance. He accused the Banerjee government of spreading hatred.

Criticism of TMC and BJP's Focus

Gandhi pointed out that both the TMC and BJP neglect issues concerning women and employment. He claimed that the safety of women under the Banerjee administration is inadequate and accused TMC workers of engaging in violent behavior.

If TMC Had Performed, BJP Wouldn't Exist

Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition, Lok Sabha:
In Bengal, TMC is paving the way for the BJP because if TMC had done its job, provided employment, and not spread hatred, the BJP wouldn't even be a question here.

Violence and Crime in West Bengal

Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition, Lok Sabha:
When we talk about violence and crime in West Bengal, we must also mention the rape and murder case at RG Kar Medical College. Today, TMC's goons do whatever they want, attacking Congress leaders. Our leader Tapan Kundu was murdered.

Congress Stands Against Violence

Gandhi emphasized that while BJP and TMC leaders resort to violence, Congress stands firmly against it.

Unfulfilled Employment Promises

The Congress leader remarked that TMC had promised to create five lakh jobs in its 2021 manifesto, yet the people of West Bengal have seen no results. In fact, companies and manufacturing units in the state have shut down.

Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition, Lok Sabha:
On one hand, TMC claims to provide jobs for five lakh people, while on the other, 84 lakh youths are demanding unemployment benefits. The people of West Bengal are being mocked. The Left shut down industries, and now TMC is doing the same.

Corruption Allegations Against TMC

Gandhi stated, 'While Narendra Modi is corrupt, TMC is not far behind in the race for corruption. The Saradha chit fund scam has left 1,900 crores unpaid to 17 lakh investors. The Rose Valley chit fund scam has yet to return 6,600 crores to 31 lakh investors. TMC is engaged in coal smuggling, illegal mining, and extortion to benefit its syndicate.'

BJP's Hate Campaign

Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition, Lok Sabha:
The Modi government has not provided Bengal with 2 lakh crores. They have cut funds for MGNREGA and allocated no projects for West Bengal in the budget. TMC is only focused on its own interests, showing no concern for the people here.

Gandhi further stated in Raiganj, 'BJP spreads hatred 24/7, inciting conflict between religions and winning elections through vote theft. After Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Haryana, BJP is now attempting to steal votes in West Bengal, with TMC facilitating this.'

Modi's Control and Global Implications

Gandhi remarked, 'The Adani Group represents the financial structure of the BJP, and Donald Trump has recognized this, leading to legal action against Adani in the U.S. Although Adani may have substantial wealth, he cannot leave India, as he would be apprehended the moment he does, causing Modi's facade to collapse. Essentially, Modi's control is in Trump's hands.'

Threats to the Constitution

Gandhi expressed, 'Today, we remember Ambedkar. He, along with Gandhi and Nehru, provided the nation with its Constitution. The ideology filled with hatred from RSS-BJP is attempting to dismantle it.'

Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition, Lok Sabha:
While RSS-BJP do not directly attack the Constitution, they are trying to undermine it by placing their people in institutions and stealing votes.

Our Fight Against RSS-BJP

Gandhi concluded, 'Our struggle is against the hatred-filled ideology of RSS-BJP. During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, we traveled 4,000 kilometers from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, promoting the message of opening a shop of love in a market of hatred. We conveyed to the nation that nothing can be achieved through hatred, violence, or division; only love and unity can lead the country forward.'
