PM Modi's Rally in West Bengal: Aiming for BJP Victory
Prime Minister Modi Addresses West Bengal Ahead of Elections
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released an audio message for the people of West Bengal just before the enforcement of the election code of conduct. Prior to this, he spoke at a rally in Barrackpore. The second phase of voting for 142 seats in Bengal is scheduled for April 29, following the first phase that took place on April 23 for 152 seats. In his audio message, Modi expressed confidence in the BJP's victory and reiterated his commitment to making the lotus bloom in Bengal.
Modi's Vision for Bengal
Modi stated that the people of Bengal are ready for a change in government, emphasizing that his destiny and responsibility lie in serving and ensuring the safety of the state. He reflected on his recent visits, sharing that he felt a divine energy among the devotees of Maa Kali. He described his rallies and roadshows in Bengal as akin to a pilgrimage, noting that the common people are rejecting fear and embracing faith in the BJP.
Confidence in BJP's Success
During the rally in Barrackpore, Modi expressed his belief that the atmosphere indicates a strong possibility of the lotus blooming in Bengal this time. He recalled that when India was prosperous, it was supported by three strong pillars: Bihar, Bengal, and Odisha. He stressed that for India to achieve its goal of becoming a developed nation, these regions must be strengthened.
Promise to Return on May 4
Modi assured that the BJP would form the next government in West Bengal after the assembly elections. He promised to return for the oath-taking ceremony on May 4, following the announcement of results. Speaking on the last day of campaigning for the second and final phase of the assembly elections, he addressed a rally in Barrackpore, located in the North 24 Parganas district.
Critique of TMC
The Prime Minister launched a sharp critique against the ruling Trinamool Congress, accusing it of running a 'syndicate raj', engaging in political violence, and contributing to the state's economic backwardness. He stated, 'Based on the atmosphere I have sensed in West Bengal, I can confidently say that I will need to return for the BJP government’s oath-taking ceremony after May 4.'
Historical Significance of Barrackpore
Referencing Barrackpore's historical significance, Modi noted its crucial role in India's first struggle for independence in 1857 and how it is now laying the groundwork for political change in West Bengal. He emphasized that the progress of West Bengal is essential for the overall development of India, asserting that the rise of the eastern region is vital for the country's future.
A Call to Action
Modi declared, 'Serving West Bengal, ensuring its safety, and saving it is my destiny and duty.' He cited victories in neighboring states as examples, stating, 'After Odisha and Bihar, this time the lotus will bloom in West Bengal as well. The Trinamool Congress has neglected its core slogan of Maa, Mati, Manush and lacks a vision for the state's development.'
