Mamata Banerjee Raises Concerns Over Election Integrity Ahead of West Bengal Vote Counting
Mamata Banerjee's Credibility at Stake in West Bengal Elections
The credibility of Mamata Banerjee is on the line as the West Bengal Assembly elections approach a critical juncture. The political future of the Trinamool Congress, which has held power since 2011, could be determined today. Just hours before the vote counting begins, Banerjee has made serious allegations.
Banerjee claims that intentional power outages are occurring in certain regions, and that CCTV cameras are being disabled. She has specifically named areas where these power cuts are reportedly taking place, directing her criticism towards the central government and the election commission.
Details of Mamata Banerjee's Allegations
Banerjee has reported receiving complaints from several locations, including Serampore in Hooghly, Krishnanagar in Nadia, Asagram in Bardhaman, and the strong room in Kolkata. According to her, power is being cut off, CCTV systems are being turned off, and vehicles are frequently moving around the strong room.
Message to Party Workers
The Chief Minister has urged her party members to remain vigilant. She stated, 'People should stay alert, keep an eye out, and ensure the security of the strong room where the votes are stored.'
Allegations Against the BJP
Banerjee has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of orchestrating these disruptions. She has called on citizens to report any suspicious activities immediately and to demand CCTV footage if necessary.
This is not the first instance where Banerjee has raised concerns about irregularities during elections. Previously, the Trinamool Congress has alleged tampering with electronic voting machines (EVMs) and manipulation of votes.
