LDF's Confidence in Kerala Elections

On Saturday, KV Thomas, the special representative of the Kerala government in Delhi, expressed his belief that the Left Democratic Front (LDF), led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist), will secure a third consecutive term in the state. He asserted that the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) would be unable to form a government due to internal conflicts.

Previously a member of the Congress party, Thomas accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of introducing a culture of political bargaining, citing recent events in Palakkad as evidence. He referred to allegations against BJP leader Shobha Surendran regarding vote-buying.

Serious Allegations Against BJP

In an interview with a news channel, Thomas highlighted consumerism in a statement made by BJP leader Shon George, suggesting that if the church does not support the BJP, it may not receive assistance in return. He claimed that the comments made by Shon and his father, PC George, reveal their true nature.

'Disguised Wolves'

Thomas further remarked, 'They are coming disguised as wolves. They are attempting to intimidate the church with their statements, but this tactic will not succeed in Kerala.' He expressed confidence that the LDF would win a third term, citing the absence of an anti-incumbency wave in the state.

He also stated that the UDF would not regain power due to a lack of leadership and ongoing internal strife. Thomas noted that there is already a dispute within the Congress regarding who will be the chief minister.
