Guwahati, May 13: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is set to encounter significant hurdles in the upcoming five years.

The foremost task at hand is to finalize his cabinet, as the NDA has secured 102 out of 126 seats in the Assembly. This requires a careful balancing act. According to regulations, the cabinet can consist of 19 members, and currently, only Sarma and four other Ministers have taken their oaths. He must complete the cabinet formation promptly.

One of the pressing issues Sarma will face is addressing the challenge of foreign infiltration. The detection and deportation of illegal immigrants is a complex task, particularly since Bangladesh is reluctant to accept these individuals as its citizens.

During his election campaign, Sarma pledged to accelerate the deportation process for foreigners. He extensively discussed this matter in his rallies across West Bengal. Now, he must devise effective strategies to identify and remove foreigners residing in Assam.
