Massive Rally in Morigaon

BJP rally in Morigaon on Sunday

Morigaon, Nov 1: A significant number of BJP supporters and members gathered in Morigaon town on Sunday for a rally titled “Gonotontro Bachao, Arajakta Hatao” (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy), where they criticized the Congress party for its attacks on democratic institutions and alleged dissemination of false information.

The event, organized by the Morigaon district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), featured participants chanting slogans like “Ami Gonotontro Rokhya Korim” (We’ll save democracy) and “Apoxoktik Binaash Korim” (We will eliminate evil forces).

During a press briefing, Minister Pijush Hazarika accused the Congress of engaging in propaganda that causes distress to the public.

“The public is dissatisfied with the Congress's tactics. They consistently create problems for the citizens. We do not endorse arrogance. The Congress only garnered 9% of the votes in the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election, yet they continue to perform political theatrics,” he stated.

Hazarika further alleged that the Congress selectively questions the Election Commission's integrity, accepting its authority when they win in states like Kerala, Punjab, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh, but disputing it when the BJP is victorious.

He condemned what he termed the Congress's malicious propaganda, asserting that citizens nationwide are increasingly voicing their opposition to the party and certain organizations.

BJP state president Dilip Saikia emphasized the party's dedication to safeguarding democracy and maintaining the integrity of democratic institutions.

He accused the Congress, led by Rahul Gandhi, of collaborating with leftist groups and what he referred to as “Dimaagi Naxals” to foster an environment of chaos in the nation.

“The populace has risen to combat the Dimaagi Naxals, leftist liberals, and the deep state, all of whom oppose national development. They are collectively attempting to instigate anarchy, and the people are standing against them,” Saikia remarked.

He added that citizens are stepping forward to resist these forces and reaffirm their commitment to democratic values.

The rally saw participation from Saikia, Hazarika, MLA Ramakanta Deuri, MP Debashish Sharma, along with the district BJP president and secretary, and thousands of party activists.

This Morigaon padyatra is part of the BJP's broader national campaign titled “Gantantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao”, which includes marches and outreach initiatives across various states, including Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Assam.

BJP national president Nitin Nabin led a march in Rohtak, Haryana, on November 1, while Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma spearheaded a padyatra in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
