Guwahati, May 7: The president of Assam's BJP, Dilip Saikia, announced that the BJP Legislature Party and NDA Legislature Party will convene on May 10 to discuss the formation of the new state government.


These meetings will feature BJP national president J. P. Nadda and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, with the primary aim of officially selecting the new leader of the legislature party.


Saikia indicated that decisions regarding the new cabinet, including the potential inclusion of new members, will be made following the BJP Legislature Party meeting.


He also revealed that the swearing-in ceremony for the BJP-led NDA government in Assam is scheduled for May 12 at 11 am, taking place at the Veterinary College Playground in Khanapara, with an anticipated turnout of over one lakh attendees.


In his address to the media, Saikia expressed that there is significant public excitement throughout Guwahati and other regions of Assam regarding the establishment of the new NDA government.


“The community is eagerly anticipating the swearing-in ceremony. A substantial number of supporters and citizens are expected to gather at Khanapara to witness this historic event,” he stated.


Discussing the preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, Saikia mentioned that Modi is expected to land at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati around 10:15 am on May 12.


Following his arrival, the Prime Minister will head to the Narengi helipad before proceeding to the ceremony venue at Khanapara.


Saikia further noted that alongside Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, numerous Union ministers, chief ministers, and deputy chief ministers from NDA-governed states, as well as senior BJP leaders from across the nation, are anticipated to participate in the event.


He added that both the party and the state government are closely overseeing the preparations for the occasion.


Various ministers, senior BJP officials, and organizational leaders have been tasked with managing arrangements and ensuring order during the event.
