Election Day for Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry
After months of campaigning, the day for voting has finally arrived in Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry. Today, voters will cast their ballots for all 126 seats in Assam, 140 in Kerala, and all 30 in Puducherry. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been in power in Assam for the past decade. In Puducherry, N. Rangasamy of the All India N.R. Congress has served as Chief Minister for the last five years, with the BJP as his ally. Meanwhile, Kerala has been governed by a Left coalition for the last ten years, with Pinarayi Vijayan, now 82 years old, continuing as Chief Minister. In addition to these elections, by-elections are also taking place in several locations, including one in Nagaland, two in Karnataka, and one in Tripura. A by-election in Goa was scheduled but was canceled by the Bombay High Court just before voting.

Kerala: Voting is taking place in a single phase across all 140 seats, with 883 candidates vying for votes from 2.71 crore voters.
Puducherry: In the Union Territory of Puducherry, 294 candidates are competing for 30 assembly seats, with 9.5 lakh voters set to elect their new government.
