Strengthening US-India Trade Relations


New Delhi: According to Sergio Gor, the newly appointed US ambassador, India holds a pivotal role in the United States' global strategy, and both nations are diligently working towards finalizing a significant trade agreement.


In his inaugural address, Gor emphasized that while disagreements may arise among friends, they ultimately find resolutions, highlighting the strong rapport between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former President Donald Trump.


"India, being the largest democracy in the world, presents unique challenges in reaching a consensus, but we are committed to achieving this goal," he stated during a ceremony attended by US embassy staff.


He further noted that trade is a vital component of the bilateral relationship, but collaboration will also extend to critical sectors such as security, counter-terrorism, energy, technology, education, and health.


Gor shared his experiences traveling with President Trump, affirming the authenticity of their friendship with Prime Minister Modi.


Additionally, he revealed that India is set to join the Pax Silica alliance, a strategic US-led initiative aimed at establishing a secure and innovative silicon supply chain.


"I am delighted to announce that India will be welcomed as a full member of this alliance next month," he remarked.
