What to Expect at SEMICON India 2026: A Game-Changer for Odisha's Electronics Sector

SEMICON India 2026 Set to Launch

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: On September 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially open the fifth edition of SEMICON India 2026 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi. This significant event will gather leaders from the global semiconductor industry, policymakers, researchers, and startups, marking a pivotal moment for Odisha as it aims to establish itself as a key electronics hub in eastern India.

The conference, which will last until September 19, aims to provide a platform for India to demonstrate its expanding capabilities in the semiconductor and electronics sectors while attracting new investments, technology collaborations, and supply chain connections.

Jointly organized by the India Semiconductor Mission, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and the global industry association SEMI, SEMICON India 2026 carries the theme "Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem."

SEMI India President Ashok Chandak emphasized the significance of this event, stating, "Semicon 1.0 has transitioned from policy intentions to actual projects and the commencement of commercial production; Semicon 2.0 now presents us with the chance to amplify this momentum throughout the broader ecosystem."

The event will feature over 600 exhibitors, 300 international firms, and delegates from more than 50 countries, highlighting India's emerging role as a reliable global semiconductor partner.

Odisha will showcase its growing semiconductor ecosystem, particularly in areas such as compound semiconductor manufacturing, advanced packaging, and chip design.

Notable projects by SiCSem and 3D Glass Solutions are currently underway at Info Valley in Khordha, reinforcing the state's aspirations to develop a comprehensive industry hub.
