New Meetings Scheduled for Stakeholder Engagement

The 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC) is set to hold another series of stakeholder consultations, with meetings planned in New Delhi on August 7 and August 10. These discussions are part of the Commission's ongoing efforts to collect feedback from employee representatives prior to making recommendations regarding pay, pensions, allowances, and other service-related issues for central government employees and pensioners. This latest schedule was communicated through an official notice released on July 23.

The upcoming meetings will be exclusive to recognized associations, federations, and unions that represent Central Government and Union Territory (UT) employees, specifically those based in or registered in Delhi. This announcement follows the Commission's recent consultations held in Kolkata on July 9 and 10, where various employee and pensioner organizations raised concerns about the speed of the Commission's progress and the timeline for final recommendations.

Eligibility for Delhi Consultations

The Commission has clarified that only organizations that have previously submitted their memorandums and have not yet met with the Commission in Delhi or any State or Union Territory can request an appointment. Interested organizations must submit their requests by July 31, 2026, along with their unique memorandum identification number. Details regarding the venue and meeting schedule will be provided separately to eligible participants.

During these consultations, employee associations are anticipated to discuss several critical topics, including salary adjustments, pension benefits, allowances, fitment factors, promotions, career advancement, and overall service conditions.

Further Stakeholder Meetings Across India

The Commission has indicated that the consultations in August are part of a broader engagement strategy and will not be the last discussions. Additional meetings are scheduled in Delhi and various States and Union Territories in the coming months, leading up to the Commission's preparation and submission of recommendations to the Central government. Employee bodies located outside the Delhi-NCR area will have the chance to request appointments in their respective States or Union Territories or at nearby locations. Future consultation schedules will be made available on the Commission's official website.

Extended Deadline for Employee Data Submission

In another development, the 8th Pay Commission has extended the deadline for ministries, government departments, and Union Territories to upload employee-related data via its online data collection portal until July 31, 2026. This extension comes in response to requests from various government departments for additional time to complete the data submission process. The Commission has emphasized that only data uploaded through its designated online portal will be considered during the review, and submissions made via physical documents or email will not be accepted.
