Transforming Network Operations with AI

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has entered into a significant multi-year agreement with ABB, aimed at revolutionizing ABB's global network operations through artificial intelligence. This collaboration signifies a new chapter in their two-decade-long partnership.

Under this agreement, TCS will play a crucial role in enhancing ABB's user experience, boosting operational efficiency, ensuring security compliance, and preparing for advanced digital operations. Central to this initiative is ABB's Future Network Model program, which seeks to standardize and centrally manage its global network infrastructure.

As the strategic partner for this program, TCS will design, integrate, and manage a secure, modern, and AI-driven global network ecosystem, while coordinating a multi-vendor environment to maintain standardized operations worldwide.

Alec Joannou, Group CIO of ABB, remarked, "The Future Network Model is a pivotal step in strengthening the digital backbone of ABB's global operations. As our business evolves, it is essential to have a resilient and secure ecosystem that aligns with our long-term transformation objectives. Our partnership with TCS emphasizes our commitment to delivery excellence and continuous improvement, enabling us to meet our strategic goals effectively."

Anupam Singhal, President of Manufacturing at TCS, added, "For over 20 years, TCS has been instrumental in supporting ABB's transformation journey. The Future Network Model represents the next phase of our collaboration. By integrating AI into the network operations model, backed by a secure digital infrastructure and our extensive domain expertise, we are implementing our 'infrastructure to intelligence' strategy to create a robust and intelligent network backbone. This partnership will facilitate network systems that can continuously sense, adapt, and enhance reliability, security, user experience, and scalability as ABB evolves into a future-ready enterprise."

Industry analysts suggest that this AI-focused agreement not only strengthens the long-standing partnership between TCS and ABB but also highlights the growing demand for AI-driven network automation and operational efficiency.
