May 1, 2026, Holiday Update: The Indian stock markets will not operate today, May 1, 2026, in observance of Maharashtra Day and Labour Day. Both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed for the entire day, meaning there will be no trading in stocks, derivatives, currencies, SLB, or Electronic Gold Receipts. The National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) will also be closed throughout the day. However, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will have a partial closure; while the morning trading session is canceled, the evening session will resume from 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
