SpaceX is reportedly in the process of drafting its IPO regulations as it approaches what could potentially be the largest public offering in history. In a recent online meeting with its banking partners, the aerospace company disclosed plans to broaden participation from everyday investors, a strategy not commonly seen at this magnitude. As per a report from a news agency, sources familiar with the situation indicate that SpaceX aims to allocate a significant portion of shares for retail investors. Elon Musk is also organizing a major investor event in June, anticipated to welcome around 1,500 individual investors shortly after the IPO roadshow commences. During this meeting, Chief Financial Officer Bret Johnsen emphasized the crucial role of individual investors in the company's public launch, stating, "Retail is going to be a critical part of this and a bigger part than any IPO in history." He elaborated on this strategy, highlighting the long-standing support from these investors and the company's desire to acknowledge that support. This approach signifies a departure from traditional IPO frameworks, which typically favor institutional investors.


Details of the Roadshow and Investor Engagement

The company plans to initiate its IPO roadshow during the week of June 8, where executives and bankers will present the investment opportunity to potential stakeholders. Prior to this, around 125 analysts from 21 participating banks are expected to engage with SpaceX's leadership. Following the roadshow's commencement, a significant retail-focused event is scheduled for June 11. Importantly, participation will not be restricted to the United States; investors from regions such as the UK, Europe, Australia, Canada, Japan, and South Korea are also anticipated to have access. Valuation Goals and Market Implications

SpaceX aims to raise around $75 billion, potentially valuing the company at up to $1.75 trillion. This would mark a substantial increase from previous valuation estimates, including an $800 billion figure from a December 2025 tender offer and a $1.25 trillion valuation following its merger with xAI earlier this year. Unlike typical IPOs, where retail investors usually receive only 5% to 10% of shares, SpaceX is contemplating allocating as much as 30% to individual investors, indicating a significant shift in the structure of public offerings moving forward.
