Inauguration of SEMICON India 2026

New Delhi, Sep 14: On September 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially open the fifth edition of SEMICON India 2026 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi. This significant event will gather global semiconductor firms, policymakers, investors, researchers, startups, and academic institutions to highlight India's growing capabilities in the semiconductor and electronics sectors.


The three-day event, running from September 17 to 19, is being organized in collaboration with the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and SEMI, a global association representing the semiconductor and electronics design and manufacturing community.


Under the theme “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem,” SEMICON India 2026 is taking place at a pivotal moment in India's semiconductor development, driven by supportive policies, enhanced industry execution, and a surge in global demand for diverse and resilient supply chains, which are opening new avenues for growth.


The exhibition will host over 600 exhibitors, including approximately 300 international firms, across a vast area of 15,000 square meters. More than 150 speakers are anticipated to engage in discussions addressing significant advancements and challenges within the semiconductor and electronics landscape.


Attendees can expect six country pavilions and 12 state government pavilions as part of the exhibition, along with dedicated spaces for startups, innovation, student engagement, workforce development, and the promotion of women in the semiconductor field. The Startup Pavilion will feature around 40 startups, while the Workforce Development Pavilion will emphasize talent acquisition, skills enhancement, and career pathways in microelectronics.


A highlight of the exhibition will be the new ‘Sand to Silicon to Systems’ Value Chain Experience, which will provide visitors with a comprehensive overview of the semiconductor ecosystem, encompassing materials and manufacturing, advanced packaging, chip design, electronics, and systems.


The event will also include a startup pitch competition, a student hackathon, and an innovation showcase, offering platforms for emerging companies, researchers, and students to present their ideas and technologies.


The conference agenda will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and strategic sessions focused on semiconductor manufacturing and technology, artificial intelligence, supply chain resilience, advanced packaging, materials and equipment, chip design, research and development, startups, innovation, and talent cultivation.


Additionally, six international country roundtables will be conducted, along with sessions dedicated to women's empowerment and leadership, workforce development, and collaboration among industry associations to bolster India's electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM) sector.
