On Saturday, petrol and diesel prices saw another increase, marking the third adjustment in just ten days. The price of petrol has gone up by 87 paise per litre, while diesel has increased by 91 paise. As a result of this latest adjustment, petrol in Delhi is now priced at Rs 99.51 per litre, and diesel is available at Rs 92.49 per litre. This marks the third increase since May 15, when state-owned oil marketing firms began to gradually reflect the rising global energy costs, which have been influenced by ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. The initial hike occurred on May 15, with a rise of Rs 3 per litre, followed by an additional increase of approximately 90 paise on May 19. Cumulatively, petrol and diesel prices have surged by nearly Rs 5 per litre.
