Fare Increases for Private Buses in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: The State Transport Authority (STA) announced an increase in private bus fares in Odisha on Tuesday, attributing the hike to rising diesel prices.


This adjustment affects all types of private buses operating within the state.


Ordinary bus fares have been adjusted from 90 paise to 92 paise per kilometer, while express bus fares have risen from 94 paise to 96 paise per kilometer. The fare for deluxe buses has been modified from Rs 1.31 to Rs 1.35 per kilometer. Additionally, air-conditioned deluxe bus fares have increased from Rs 1.59 to Rs 1.63 per kilometer, as per the official announcement.


Furthermore, super deluxe bus fares have seen a rise from Rs 2.47 to Rs 2.53 per kilometer, according to the notification.


The STA clarified that this fare revision is part of an automatic adjustment mechanism that responds to changes in diesel prices.
