Odisha's Investors' Meet Gains Traction in UAE


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Investors' Meet in the UAE has gained significant momentum, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi engaging in multiple discussions with industry leaders and investors. This initiative led to the signing of five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and eight investment intentions, amounting to a total of Rs 8,417 crore, which could potentially create 14,310 jobs.


The second day of the meet commenced with a crucial meeting between Majhi and Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE's Minister of Economy and Tourism. Their discussions aimed at enhancing economic ties and investment collaboration between Odisha and the UAE, while also identifying new opportunities for UAE investors.


Majhi emphasized Odisha's industrial growth, strategic location, strong infrastructure, and a skilled workforce, inviting UAE investors to consider the state for long-term business ventures. He participated in the Odisha Investment Roadshow in Dubai, where the state's industrial ecosystem and investment prospects were highlighted. The CM encouraged global businesses to partner with Odisha to foster industrial growth and sustainable economic development.


During a focused roundtable on aluminium downstream industries, the conversation revolved around investment opportunities within Odisha's aluminium value chain, including downstream manufacturing and technology-driven sectors. Majhi also engaged with the Indian Business Professional Council in Dubai and visited Emirates Global Aluminium to learn about advanced industrial practices in the aluminium sector. An industry roundtable with the Bureau of Middle East Recycling discussed recycling opportunities and resource efficiency.


The Chief Minister conducted several one-on-one and group meetings with investors, showcasing Odisha's investment potential and reaffirming the state government's commitment to supporting projects. The day's activities culminated in the signing of five MoUs valued at Rs 5,600 crore, expected to generate 11,500 jobs, alongside eight investment intents worth Rs 2,817 crore, which could create an additional 2,810 jobs.
