Bhubaneswar: On Friday, Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that the state is entering a transformative phase of growth, moving beyond its historical strengths in culture, heritage, and natural resources to embrace new sectors like industry, investment, education, technology, and finance.

Speaking at the Business Eminence Awards 2026, CM Majhi highlighted that Odisha is now recognized as one of the rapidly developing economies in India, enhancing its appeal for investors.

He attributed this progress to a 'double-engine' governance model under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is characterized by a long-term vision and stable policies.

During the awards ceremony, organized by Dharitri and another media outlet, the Chief Minister described the event as a celebration of 'courage, struggle, self-reliance, perseverance, and enterprise.' He emphasized that entrepreneurship is not merely about success; it is rooted in continuous effort, overcoming challenges, ambition, and sleepless nights.

Majhi remarked, 'Individuals who emerge from humble beginnings are not just success stories; they serve as inspirations for society and future entrepreneurs.'

He also praised Dharitri and the other media outlet for establishing the awards, expressing gratitude to Editor Tathagata Satpathy for acknowledging entrepreneurs through this initiative. He noted that Dharitri symbolizes the evolving ideas of modern Odisha, founded in 1974 by the esteemed writer Kalindi Charan Panigrahi during a significant national transition.

The Chief Minister pointed out that the publication has consistently echoed the aspirations of younger audiences while maintaining a unique voice in news reporting. He also commended Dharitri and the other media outlet for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, as they continued to operate under challenging circumstances to keep the public informed.

Reaffirming Odisha's economic path, CM Majhi stated that the state is progressively establishing itself as a prime investment hub while fostering a comprehensive development ecosystem across various sectors.
